About The Position

JLL is seeking a Mechatronics Junior Technician Apprentice to learn and perform the installation, alteration, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electronic, mechanical, computer, control, and robotics/automation equipment, systems, and components within a complex Fulfillment/Distribution Center. This role involves a comprehensive learning program combining classroom, laboratory, and on-the-job training, with a strong emphasis on adhering to health and safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 18 years old or older with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must meet the minimum qualifying score on a Mechanical Aptitude Test.
  • Ability to travel to attend training at one of 3 training sites in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina or Texas for 12 weeks.
  • Basic computer skills, i.e. email, word processing, reading spreadsheets, internet browser basics.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience in basic preventive/predictive maintenance, troubleshooting skills and repair methods of industrial machines.
  • 1+ years of experience in Mechanical and/or Electrical basic components.
  • 1 + years of experience with compressors and pneumatics.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to perform the job of Mechatronics Junior Technician.
  • Install, alter, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic, mechanical, computer, control, and robotics/automation equipment, systems, and components.
  • Train in and adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow work processes closely at school and on the shop floor.
  • Communicate and work well within a team environment.
  • Work capably with technical documentation.
  • Work capably with a computer.
  • Learn to perform work with material transfer conveyors.
  • Understand, identify, locate malfunctions, remove, replace, adjust, and return to service equipment.
  • Learn PLCs and work with Automation Engineers in a laboratory environment.
  • Learn to perform work with robotic systems and work with Robotics Engineers and OEMs.
  • Combine electronic, mechanical, computer, and control skills.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair complex high-performance manufacturing systems to maintain process efficiency.
  • Understand and analyze the technical specifications of mechatronic systems, subsystems, modules, and components.
  • Perform scheduled, predictive, and preventive maintenance.
  • Use troubleshooting skills to identify and prevent possible problems and failures, and to systematically and intelligently make repairs.
  • Incorporate relevant technical literature into the understanding of system operation.
  • Coordinate efforts with other technicians.
  • Install, repair, adjust, and test equipment and components.
  • Communicate with machine operators.
  • Operate equipment to detect equipment problems, analyze malfunctions, and verify system problems.
  • Observe and incorporate safety standards and regulations.
