About The Position

This role involves the design, development, and integration of electro-mechanical systems and equipment, with a specific focus on battery system technology for Huck products. The engineer will be responsible for PCB design, microprocessor and PLC programming, electrical control panel design, and working with hydraulic systems. The position also includes developing process monitoring systems, integrating sensors, creating system documentation, performing system-level troubleshooting, and supporting testing and validation procedures. Continuous improvement and root-cause analysis are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant engineering experience in electro-mechanical systems, industrial controls, automation, or a related environment.
  • Working knowledge of CAD/CAM and computer technology.
  • Working knowledge of FEA software.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of electrical circuits, sensors, actuators, motors, relays, power supplies, and industrial control hardware.
  • Ability to read and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and system documentation.
  • Ability to use standard electrical and electronic test equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic systems and components, including pumps, valves, cylinders, pressure controls, and instrumentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across electrical, electronic, mechanical, and controls systems.
  • Project management skills – leading development and standardization of hydraulic power units, process monitoring systems, and integrated electronics.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Experience with hydraulic schematics and electro-hydraulic control systems.
  • Experience with motion control, servo systems, variable-frequency drives, or motor control.
  • Experience with PLC programming, including ladder logic.
  • Experience with PCB design and development.
  • Experience programming microprocessors or embedded systems using languages such as C, C++, or similar.
  • Experience with data acquisition, sensor integration, and remote monitoring.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, CAN, RS-232/RS-485, or similar.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience taking products or equipment from prototype through production.
  • Experience with automated testing, diagnostics, and system validation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and integrate electro-mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Design, develop and implement battery system technology for Huck products.
  • Develop and modify printed circuit board (PCB) designs, including schematic capture, component selection, layout, and design verification.
  • Program and troubleshoot microprocessors and embedded control systems, including firmware development, I/O interfaces, sensors, and communications.
  • Develop, program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems, including ladder logic, I/O configuration, HMI interfaces, and industrial communications.
  • Design and integrate electrical control panels, sensors, actuators, motors, and other electro-mechanical components.
  • Work with hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, pressure sensors, and associated electrical controls.
  • Develop and support process monitoring systems for measurement, data acquisition, alarms, diagnostics, and system status monitoring.
  • Integrate sensors and instrumentation for pressure, temperature, flow, position, level, and other process variables.
  • Develop system architectures, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control logic, and technical documentation.
  • Perform system-level troubleshooting involving electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and software components.
  • Design and execute testing and validation procedures for prototypes and production systems.
  • Support root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
