Our Restoration & Renewal practice provide owners and managers with a home for solutions to a wide range of structural, envelope and building systems needs for existing properties of every use, age and construction type. Our multidisciplinary design and assessment services cover a wide range of needs. We perform condition assessments, investigations, feasibility studies and peer reviews. We design repairs, renovations and alterations and oversee their execution in the field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • P.E. license in NY is required.
  • Significant knowledge of and proven experience with NYC building codes and industry mechanical codes is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new business, maintain and cultivate client relationships, develop scope and fee proposals, effectively manage projects, and supervise/mentor staff on multidisciplinary engineering efforts.
  • Proficient in preparation and review of manual and software assisted calculations.
  • Strong analytical skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain new and existing client relationships.
  • Develop detailed scope and fee proposals. Negotiate contracts with clients.
  • Manage and monitor project budgets, schedule, and staffing.
  • Work cohesively with our in-house multidisciplinary team of professionals, which includes structural engineers, architects, HVAC engineers, electrical engineers, plumbing/fire protection engineers, and site civil engineers, on projects of widely varying sizes and complexities.
  • Lead the analysis, evaluation, design and specification of mechanical/HVAC systems.
  • Supervise the development of design/renovation drawings.
  • Prepare and review mechanical calculations, designs, and equipment selections.
  • Prepare field notes, feasibility studies, cost analyses, reports, and specifications.
  • Perform peer reviews and condition assessments, including order of magnitude cost estimating.
