About The Position

At Bay Materials, innovation goes beyond creating new materials; we also develop the tools and test methods that prove they perform under real-world conditions. We're looking for a Mechanical Testing Engineer to design and develop mechanical testing systems, fixtures, and methodologies that support the development of next-generation polymer materials for dental and orthodontic applications. If you enjoy combining mechanical design, laboratory testing, and engineering problem-solving, this is an opportunity to make a direct impact on innovative medical technologies.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master´s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in mechanical testing, product development, or laboratory engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical testing equipment such as tensile, fatigue, DMA, or similar systems.
  • Experience designing fixtures, tooling, or experimental setups.
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
  • Advanced English proficiency is required, as this is a global role involving regular collaboration and communication with international stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with polymer or medical device products is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing custom mechanical test fixtures, tooling, and prototypes.
  • Supporting mechanical characterization of advanced polymer materials and components.
  • Developing test methods, protocols, and acceptance criteria.
  • Executing verification and validation activities in support of product development.
  • Analyzing mechanical test data and preparing technical reports.
  • Supporting root-cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining and improving laboratory equipment, testing methods, and documentation.
  • Collaborating across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams.

Benefits

  • You'll help build the testing capabilities that ensure next-generation polymer technologies meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Working alongside scientists and engineers, you'll contribute to products that improve orthodontic treatment for patients worldwide while solving challenging mechanical engineering problems in a collaborative and innovation-driven environment.
