Mechanical Test Engineer

Stress Engineering Services•Mason, OH

About The Position

Stress Engineering Services, Inc. (SES) is hiring a Mechanical Test Engineer to plan and execute custom tests in a dynamic, industrial laboratory environment. The role combines mechanical engineering fundamentals with hands-on testing and system operation. The engineer will develop test plans, fixtures, and methods; instrument hardware; collect and analyze data; and turn results into clear, actionable insights. Projects may involve medical devices, consumer products, primary and tertiary packaging, mechanical and electrical systems, industrial processes, and engineering materials. The successful candidate is an adaptable, hands-on problem solver who can work independently and collaboratively, operate electro-mechanical systems and instrumentation, navigate a heavy industrial lab setting safely, and manage competing priorities. The role requires clear communication with colleagues and clients, including writing test methods and reports and explaining technical information. Depending on experience, the engineer may manage projects, interface directly with clients, and guide other engineers and technicians. SES is an employee-owned firm that describes its culture as supportive, entrepreneurial, collaborative, inclusive, and technically challenging.
