Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will work hands-on in conjunction with product engineers and colleagues to design, develop, and qualify compressors for HVACR systems. To maintain our role as a global leader of compression solutions we continually seek talented and ambitious technicians to work in our engineering laboratories. We are seeking a first shift Refrigeration laboratory technician to contribute to our growth and continued innovation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma plus two to three (2-3) years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in at least one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, HVAC/R, Electrical, or Manufacturing Maintenance
  • Interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and blueprints
  • Must have troubleshooting and critical thinking skills, with effective communication skills
  • Personal computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs like Excel
  • Perform general math calculations using English or Metric units
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

Responsibilities

  • Follow engineering instructions in the lab to assemble or test or evaluate compressors and related hardware for existing and newly developed products
  • Fabricate fixtures, hardware, compressors, and controls required for non-standard assembly iterations and product tests
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, cutting, welding, soldering, and brazing equipment
  • Accurately document and review assembly, inspection, and test results
  • Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment, mechanical equipment, various machines and measuring devices
  • Communicate technical information relating to your project assignments and provide accurate updates on progress and other requested information
  • Perform various tasks related to the upkeep of the lab
  • Provide input on optimizing work processes to improve the overall efficiency of the lab
  • Collaborate and work in both a team environment and individually
