Mechanical Technician

About The Position

The Mechanical Technician diagnoses, maintains, and repairs customer vehicles. The role involves completing repair orders efficiently and according to dealership standards, testing vehicles and components with diagnostic tools and service equipment, and communicating with Service Advisors about additional service needs and repair estimates. The technician also performs warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications. Compensation is $25 to $35 per flag hour, depending on experience. The position includes opportunities for growth, training, and advancement.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of experience as an auto technician.
Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.
Ability to learn quickly and work as a team player.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong customer service skills.
Computer skills and willingness to learn new problems.
Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership standards.
Test drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems.
Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so customers can be informed when additional service is needed.
Provide estimates of the time needed for additional repairs.
Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
