About The Position

This role involves executing maintenance tasks safely, efficiently, and effectively according to the job description. The Mechanical Technician will assure that all Maintenance Procedures include a hazard assessment, obtain work permits, perform tasks for job packages, investigate additional problems, complete work, return equipment to operations, and assist in analysis to ensure problems are corrected. The role also requires applying trade skills, leveraging skills to apprentice others, assisting in the development of Maintenance Work Procedures, providing feedback on job package quality and Root Cause Analysis data, documenting history, and assisting in maintenance planning. The technician will follow job plans and standard work procedures.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of mechanical rotating equipment and flange make up experience.
  • Working knowledge of basic process equipment (pumps, blowers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems).
  • Must be willing to work weekends, nights, and holidays, if required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime (extra hours beyond your regular scheduled) if required.
  • Must have a current, valid US driver’s license.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of reciprocating compressors.
  • NCCER Certification, Trade School or Associates Degree in a related field.
  • SAP experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities

  • Assures that all Maintenance Procedures include a hazard assessment indicating safety, health and environmental considerations and control measures to prevent contact or exposure.
  • Obtain the work permit.
  • Perform the task for the job package.
  • If significant additional problems are identified during the job that may need a new work order, thoroughly investigate the source/cause of the problem according to the value-added work process.
  • Complete the work and return equipment to operations.
  • Assist in the analysis to ensure the problem is corrected.
  • Apply the skills of respective trade/craft/discipline in executing maintenance work.
  • Leverage trade skills to apprentice and other maintenance associates.
  • Assist in the development of Maintenance Work Procedures.
  • Feedback information on job package quality and Root Cause Analysis data as required.
  • Document/record history.
  • Assist in maintenance planning.
  • Follows job plan to complete work.
  • Follows standard work procedures where available.
