This is primarily a hands-on in shop position where you will work alongside experienced technicians to learn how to repair and rebuild industrial equipment, including AC and DC electric motors, industrial pumps, gearboxes, and other rotating mechanical equipment. You will learn to disassemble and inspect equipment, identify worn or damaged components, determine failure causes, use various tools and measuring equipment, replace parts, repair, rebuild, assemble, align, and test equipment, and develop troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. The goal is to teach you how equipment works, why it fails, and how to repair it correctly. While most of your time will be spent in the shop, opportunities for field-service work at customer facilities will arise as your skills grow.
