This is primarily a hands-on in shop position. You'll work alongside experienced technicians and learn how to repair and rebuild industrial equipment, including AC and DC electric motors, industrial pumps, gearboxes, and other rotating mechanical equipment. You'll learn to disassemble and inspect equipment, identify worn or damaged components, determine why equipment failed, use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment, replace bearings, seals, shafts, and other mechanical components, and repair, rebuild, assemble, align, and test equipment. The goal is to teach you how equipment works, why it fails, and how to repair it correctly. As your skills and experience grow, you'll have opportunities to work at customer facilities, assisting with troubleshooting equipment, repairs, removal, installation, and other field-service work.
