About The Position

Solid State Devices, Inc. (SSDI) is seeking a Mechanical Technician to support daily manufacturing and mechanical assembly operations within the Assembly Department. The Mechanical Technician assists the Assembly Lead in maintaining quality standards, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and supporting an efficient production workflow. This position performs precision mechanical assembly and collaborates with Engineering, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams to support the manufacture of high-reliability semiconductor electronic products. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement. This position is full-time and requires working onsite at our facility in La Mirada, CA. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available. Applicants must currently reside in Southern California to be considered.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Experience with hand tools, measuring devices, and precision assembly techniques.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong work ethics

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification or associate's degree in mechanical technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in semiconductor, electronics, aerospace, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products according to engineering drawings, work instructions, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Verify parts and materials before assembly to ensure accuracy, completeness, and conformance to requirements.
  • Perform mechanical measurements utilizing various mechanical measurement tools.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical assembly problems and equipment issues.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and repair of assembly tools and equipment.
  • Conduct visual inspections and ensure workmanship meets company and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to improve assembly processes and resolve production issues.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Follow all safety, ESD, cleanliness, and quality procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
