About The Position

Computype is looking for a Mechanical Technician to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on our equipment and facilities. This role is also responsible for project work and fabrication. This role is based at our headquarters in Saint Paul, MN.

Requirements

Mechanical and electrical machine troubleshooting skills.
Ability to install and replace mechanical and electrical parts.
Experience creating and executing preventive maintenance checklists and schedules.
Proficiency in using maintenance management software.
Skills in identifying, purchasing, and stocking repair parts and supplies.
Experience managing work orders from a cloud-based system.
Ability to fabricate repair and custom parts using a mill, lathe, machine tools, and welding equipment.
Experience cleaning machines and machine parts.
Strong communication skills to interact with operators.
Ability to inspect, test, fix, or replace damaged machine parts.
Experience with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing repairs for facilities.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical machine issues, identify corrective actions, needed parts, and repairs.
Install and replace mechanical and electrical parts and attachments according to manufacturer specifications.
Use manufacturer recommendations and onsite experience to create preventive maintenance checklists and schedules for critical production equipment and then complete those checks and services at the specified intervals.
Record and maintain production, repair, and preventive maintenance information in our maintenance management software.
Identify repair parts to inventory, purchase repair parts, equipment and other supplies to maintain stock.
Manage work orders from a cloud-based work order request system.
Fabricate repair parts and custom parts using a mill, lathe, machine tools, and welding equipment.
Clean machine and machine parts using cleaning solvent, cloth, air gun, hose, vacuum, etc.
Communicate with operators to understand machine issues and improvement opportunities.
Inspect and test damaged machine parts, fix or replace when needed.
Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing repairs as directed/needed to the facility.
Other duties as assigned.
