About The Position

Element has an opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity to develop your career within a Global TIC business. The role involves interpretation of internal and client requirements, supervising allocated staff, and being responsible for the day-to-day management of the relevant discipline. The technician will operate complex mechanical testing equipment, maintain accurate and systematic records, and perform other duties to fulfill the demands of the laboratory. This includes general duties in accordance with Element's internal procedures, quality, and Health and Safety systems. The position also requires application of instrumentation, setting up of complex data capture equipment, report writing, data interpretation, and analysis.

Requirements

  • Educated to a good general standard including English and Maths
  • Degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant materials related discipline
  • Hands-on job
  • Sound mechanical bias
  • Self motivated Technician with the ability to multi task, organise and work under the pressure of a busy commercial mechanical test laboratory
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A team player attitude
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an appropriate Engineering environment is a distinct advantage
  • Experience of working within a Mechanical testing environment is advantageous
  • An understanding of a recognised Quality Management Systems such as ISO 17025 is beneficial

Benefits

  • Salary: $20- $25/hr DOE
