About The Position

This role is for a Mechanical Technician Trainee who will be responsible for ensuring the on-time delivery of equipment, improving maintenance efficiency, and maintaining assigned equipment according to the maintenance program. The trainee will adhere to the Computerized Maintenance Management System, record maintenance data, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance asset utilization and reduce downtime. Responsibilities include implementing cost-saving projects, participating in failure investigations, and performing basic maintenance tasks such as tool teardown, cleaning, and troubleshooting using hand tools. The position requires a willingness to learn and a strong mechanical aptitude.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
  • Willingness to work and learn.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Ability to work 1st Shift from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Availability for weekend and extended hours as required.
  • Must provide steel-toed boots and prescription safety glasses if needed.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems.
  • Experience with cranes or forklifts.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure on-time delivery of equipment as per operational demands.
  • Improve maintenance related nonproductive time ratio of assets within the Maintenance Base.
  • Maintain assigned equipment according to the pertinent maintenance program and reliability centered maintenance strategy.
  • Adhere to the Computerized Maintenance Management System and standard work.
  • Record materials, supplies, labor costs, and equipment maintenance performance history in business systems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement culture and initiatives to improve asset utilization and cost of service delivery.
  • Support efforts to improve asset turnaround time and reduce downtime due to maintenance.
  • Implement cost of service delivery projects, such as the planned repair and reuse of parts.
  • Participate in failure investigations as assigned.
  • Comply with the Competency Management System.
  • Tear down and clean tools from rigs including wash bay, power washing, and disassembly.
  • Use basic hand tools such as drills and grinders.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Support maintenance and production operations.
