Microsurgery in general and Ophthalmology are subfields of surgery for which the surgical outcomes can be significantly improved by robotic systems to allow superior dexterity, precision, accuracy, and visualization beyond the human surgeon’s own capabilities. We are entering an exciting growth phase as we transition from R&D into pilot-scale manufacturing and prepare for key clinical and regulatory milestones. We are looking for motivated, hands-on individuals who are excited to help build, assemble, test, and support the production of surgical robotic systems. Horizon Surgical Systems is an innovative medical device startup developing the first ever robotic system to perform cataract surgery. We are entering an exciting growth phase as we transition from R&D to pilot-scale manufacturing and prepare for clinical and regulatory milestones. We are seeking a Mechanical Technician / Manufacturing Technician to support the assembly, inspection, testing, and maintenance of robotic systems, prototypes, fixtures, and production hardware. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, is detail-oriented, and is eager to learn in a fast-paced medical device startup environment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience using hand tools and basic measurement tools, and the ability to follow detailed work instructions. Some electrical assembly experience is helpful, but this role will primarily focus on mechanical assembly and manufacturing support.
