About The Position

CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for an experienced Mechanical Technician IV to support manufacturing capacity expansion projects, equipment installations, startup activities, and production line commissioning. This hands-on role will lead installation and debugging efforts, provide advanced troubleshooting support, and drive mechanical process improvements within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting equipment installations and startup activities in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Experience working in fast-paced industrial or manufacturing settings
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and diagnostic equipment
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Basic CMMS and computer system experience

  • Millwright, HVAC, Welding, OSHA, or related industrial certifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead equipment installation, startup, commissioning, and debugging activities for manufacturing capacity projects
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical system issues involving hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, motors, pumps, bearings, and gear systems
  • Support project execution to ensure milestones, timelines, and operational readiness objectives are achieved
  • Design and implement mechanical improvements that enhance equipment reliability, safety, and performance
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, vendors, and suppliers to resolve technical challenges
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for equipment and process issues
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and equipment documentation
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, spare parts inventories, and operational procedures
  • Support training efforts related to new equipment and process changes
