About The Position

CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Mechanical Technician III, to support manufacturing capacity expansion projects, equipment installations, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities. This hands-on role will work closely with engineering, operations, suppliers, and project teams to ensure successful deployment and optimization of manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical troubleshooting expertise, experience supporting new equipment installations in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule objectives.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience supporting equipment installations in a manufacturing environment
  • Startup and commissioning experience preferred
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with multiple concurrent priorities
  • Expertise with hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor, and mechanical drive systems
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, precision measurement devices, and diagnostic equipment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Basic knowledge of CMMS systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Hands-on experience with commercial manufacturing equipment
  • Project leadership or project management experience
  • Vendor and supplier management experience
  • CAD software experience
  • Millwright, HVAC, Welding, or related industrial certifications
  • OSHA or other industrial safety certifications
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support equipment installation, startup, commissioning, and debug activities
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of mechanical systems and manufacturing equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment issues involving hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gear systems, conveyors, pumps, and motors
  • Implement mechanical improvements that enhance equipment reliability, safety, and performance
  • Collaborate with engineers, operations personnel, vendors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, engineering drawings, and technical manuals
  • Develop and maintain engineering, maintenance, and operational documentation
  • Support spare parts identification and inventory management activities
  • Assist with operator training related to equipment and process changes
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and manufacturing standards
