Requirements

  • Technical or vocational training, airframe & powerplant (A&P) mechanic preferred
  • 5+ years of industrial experience
  • Experience in gearbox maintenance, mechanical repair, aviation maintenance, or industrial machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and maintenance manuals
  • Knowledge of gears, bearings, lubrication systems, and mechanical assemblies
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Work safely and effectively in a team environment, as well as with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability of motivation and willing to maintain and develop skills
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.

Responsibilities

  • Identify hand tools, fasteners and equipment to be used
  • Apply basic layout principles, blueprint reading, and master intermediate trade math
  • Identify appropriate gaskets and O-rings according to their application
  • Assemble and install gears, bearings, seals, shafts, and other gearbox components
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
  • Perform functional and performance testing of gearboxes and document results
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and work orders
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company procedures
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized testing equipment safely and effectively
  • Collaborate with engineers, inspectors, and maintenance personnel to resolve technical issues
  • Troubleshoot and repair gearboxes
  • Execute precision machine installation and assembly according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings using sophisticated measuring instruments.
  • Install and align heavy industrial machinery such as conveyor systems, pumping systems, packaging systems, compressors, electric generators and turbines.
