About The Position

The Mechanical Technician II works with a variety of tools and machinery to make or repair parts, components, sub-assemblies, and complete systems. The ability to comprehend and follow detailed verbal or written instructions, as well as diagrams, blueprints, and other technical documents is a critical part of the position. Technicians must have an aptitude for mechanics and an eye for detail. The Mechanical Technician II ensures that all parts and products under their care are in proper working order and meet the quality standards of the company and industry.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Technician or similar role required
  • High level of focus, precision, and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment as well as independently with little supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively
  • Ability to adhere to TARGAN and industry best practice safety requirements
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Must have good eyesight, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to differentiate between colors
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret charts and graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to solve problems involving known and unknown variables in existing and new situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of pneumatic components preferred
  • Understanding of electrical schematics preferred
  • High school diploma and related training preferred

Responsibilities

  • Use tools to make or repair parts, components, assemblies, and systems
  • Install mechanical and electrical parts and hardware in housings or assemblies
  • Interpret diagrams, schematics, blueprints, or other verbal or written instructions
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members to meet production goals.
  • Keep a clean and organized workstation
  • Identify any defective items and handle them according to established procedures
  • Ability to use reason to solve problems as they arise
