About The Position

Join Caterpillar’s fastest-growing division, Electric Power, as a Mechanical Technician supporting the Caterpillar Switchgear Americas (CSA) team in Alpharetta, GA. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1–3 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting mechanical schematics in a manufacturing or assembly environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven ability to quickly learn and apply new processes and procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Hands-on experience using hand tools for extended periods in a production or mechanical setting.
  • Experience working collaboratively within project teams to meet shared goals.
  • A track record of completing assigned tasks on time and within expected quality standards.
  • Familiarity with producing door penetrations using mechanical aids or similar fabrication tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble sub-pans, door devices, and other pertinent power equipment with minimal supervision according to ISO standards and drawings.
  • Apply hardware, engravings, and components according to Caterpillar Switchgear standards.
  • Read part numbers and attach parts to sub-panels, door devices, and enclosures.
  • Use hardware such as screws, bolts, nuts, washers, and tools per Caterpillar Switchgear Procedures Manual.
  • Lead special projects as needed to support operations.
  • Perform all duties accurately and timely to meet schedule deadlines.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by Lead Person, Supervisor, or Manager.
