About The Position

The Mechanical Technician B role supports supervisors and senior Mechanical Technicians and “A” mechanical technicians on all tasks and responsibilities within the maintenance department. This position requires a vocational education or a high school diploma/GED, with a minimum of 3 years of previous maintenance experience. Desirable skills include knowledge of PLC and electronic instrument calibration, and the ability to read and interpret mechanical and mechanical schematics. The role also emphasizes consistent, dependable attendance and a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours, manage job-related stress, and foster productive workplace interactions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Minimum 3 years’ previous maintenance experience
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and mechanical schematics.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational education desirable
  • Knowledge of PLC and electronic instrument calibration desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all verbal and written safety, PPE, conduct and attend rules
  • Identify and correct mechanical problems
  • Good housekeeping (5S and work areas)
  • Perform tasks without supervision/ delegate supervision
  • Complete all paperwork
  • Use AS400 to order parts
  • Follow directions from Engineer
  • Available for overtime call-ins, and rotating shift
  • Other duties deemed necessary by Maintenance Manger
  • Providing quality PM job
  • Providing quality line route check
  • Must know and follow all ISO 9001 procedures for maintenance section
  • Work efficiently with other employees in order to meet plant and department goals in safety, quality, production, and housekeeping.
  • Follow oral and written instructions for upper management
  • Work and cooperate with other departments within the plant.
  • Attend scheduled department safety and training meetings.
  • Properly select tools required for the task being performed.
  • Willingness to learn and upgrade skill level.
  • Oversee the work of “B” and “C” mechanical technicians.
  • Ability to train other personnel effectively
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance, and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.
  • Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.
