About The Position

Lead day-to-day field execution for mine-site construction, industrial, civil, mechanical, structural, and underground projects. Plan and sequence work; direct crews and subcontractors; coordinate equipment, materials, and logistics; and ensure all work meets contract requirements, drawings/specifications, schedule milestones, cost targets, and GTI safety and quality standards. Own day-to-day field operations, crew supervision, subcontractor coordination, site documentation, and work planning for assigned mine-site projects. Adjust work activities based on mine-site access requirements, production schedules, shutdown windows, weather conditions, material availability, and resource constraints while partnering with Project Managers to maintain schedule and budget objectives. Coordinate directly with mine personnel and client representatives regarding work permits, site access, equipment mobilization, and operational impacts.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of civil/site/underground experience with increasing responsibility (lead/foreman/superintendent).
  • Demonstrated ability to plan work, direct crews/subcontractors, and hit schedule milestones.
  • Proficiency with Procore jobsite documentation and coordination with PM/PE for RFIs, submittals, and change events.
  • Working knowledge of drawings/specs; ability to interpret grades, utilities, and concrete details.
  • Competency with CPM concepts and look-ahead planning; basic Microsoft Project proficiency.
  • OSHA 30 and First Aid certifications.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Daily and weekly work planning, crew assignments, and resource allocation (labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors).
  • Mine-site safety leadership and compliance with MSHA regulations, site-specific safety requirements, and GTI safety standards.
  • Conducting pre-task planning meetings, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), workplace examinations, permit reviews, and field safety inspections.
  • Coordination of mine-site access, badging, training requirements, escorts, and work permits.
  • Field quality control including verification of layout, excavation, concrete, structural steel, mechanical installation, piping, and underground work as applicable.
  • Daily documentation including reports, inspections, photographs, production tracking, and client communications.
  • Productivity monitoring, manpower forecasting, and schedule tracking to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Coordination of equipment mobilization, deliveries, material staging, laydown areas, and mine-site logistics.
  • Managing shutdown and turnaround activities where required to minimize impact on mine operations.
  • Supporting Project Managers with scheduling updates, forecasting, change management, and cost control efforts.
  • Supporting Project Engineers with RFIs, submittals, as-built documentation, turnover packages, and closeout requirements.
  • Supporting Mine-site management and client representatives regarding sequencing, access, inspections, and operational coordination.
  • Recommending improvements to construction sequencing, manpower deployment, equipment utilization, and work methods.
  • Preparing recovery plans for schedule delays or productivity challenges.
  • Preparing change documentation including time and material tracking, quantity impacts, and field-driven scope changes.
  • Preparing training and development plans to improve crew capability, safety performance, and productivity.
  • Escalating safety incidents, near misses, environmental concerns, and significant site hazards.
  • Escalating schedule delays, manpower shortages, equipment issues, and cost risks beyond superintendent authority.
  • Escalating mine operational conflicts, access restrictions, and client concerns impacting project performance.
  • Escalating significant drawing, specification, or scope discrepancies requiring management review.
