About The Position
VMG is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to lead commercial mechanical construction projects in the Southwest Woodbridge / Manassas, VA area. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage job sites from start to finish-coordinating crews, maintaining schedules, ensuring quality, and keeping projects on track. The ideal candidate brings both strong field expertise and big-picture thinking, taking ownership similar to a Project Manager in the field.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in commercial mechanical construction
- Proven ability to lead and manage field teams effectively
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems, mechanical drawings, and specifications
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
Nice To Haves
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead daily mechanical field operations and manage crew performance
- Oversee installation of HVAC and plumbing systems, ensuring quality and code compliance
- Coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment to maintain project schedules
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and General Contractors to ensure alignment and clear communication
- Identify field challenges early and implement practical solutions
- Conduct job site safety meetings and enforce company safety standards
- Track project progress, maintain reports, and ensure accurate documentation
- Represent VMG professionally with clients, partners, and vendors on site
