The Mechanical Specialist will support all manufacturing areas by repairing, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance on all plant and processing related equipment and systems. This role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and partners with hourly and salaried maintenance/production teams to restore uptime and improve reliability. The specialist will troubleshoot major equipment failures quickly and accurately, diagnose root causes, and complete corrective repairs. They will execute scheduled PM/PdM work, document completion and findings, and recommend/implement reliability/productivity improvements. The role involves performing mechanical work traditionally covered by millwright and pipe shop functions, assisting packaging areas as needed, and fabricating, installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment from prints/layouts. This includes installing/maintaining pumps, servicing process/fluid pumps, maintaining facility/building components, installing/maintaining plant piping systems, and operating hand/power tools. The specialist will also maintain adequate spare parts stocking levels, prepare required reports/records using CMMS (SAP), and participate in ongoing technical training.
