We are currently looking for an Mechanical Specialist/Sr Mechanical Specialist for our Midland, KY office.

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and driven to take ownership of their work. This individual is expected to independently manage projects, communicate progress effectively, anticipate challenges, and consistently deliver high-quality results.

We are looking for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, continuously improving processes, and serving as a trusted business partner to Finance leadership and the organization.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of progressive, hands-on mechanical experience with natural gas engines and compressor equipment, including installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and/or overhaul of reciprocating and/or centrifugal compressors.
• Substantial, continuous experience specializing in natural gas compression equipment.
• Mechanical knowledge of 2- and 4-stroke, slow and high-speed engines and compressors.
• Mechanical knowledge of gas turbines.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Strong ability for prioritizing and scheduling multiple projects.
• Experience with Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel and familiarity with CMMS system for maintenance documentation.
• Valid Driver’s license is required.
• Ability to operate an all-terrain vehicle.
• Strong commitment to personal and team safety.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Ability to read and comprehend manufacturer’s equipment manuals.
• Good troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet in order to transfer tools and equipment.
• Ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns.
• Ability to work alone as required in extreme weather conditions including hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments.
• Must live within 30 miles of facilities.
• High School Diploma

Nice To Haves

• 5+ years of Mechanical experience with natural gas engines and compressors

Responsibilities

• Responsible for regulatory compliance and the operation, maintenance, and repair of station equipment, including reciprocating and centrifugal natural gas compressors, air compressors, natural gas-fired engines, turbines, fluid separation equipment, valves, and related appurtenances.
• Follow DOT regulations, industry standards, manufacturer recommendations, and BWP guidelines.
• Follow all BWP safety rules, environmental and OSHA regulations.
• Document maintenance and operational activities.
• Respond to emergencies.
• Occasionally assist at other compressor stations.
• Operating equipment and leading repairs and maintenance of reciprocating natural gas-fired engines, turbines, and associated compressors, including overhauls and mechanical repairs.
• Completing OMS database compliance.
• Performing routine maintenance such as filter changes, cleaning and inspecting coolers, and periodic checks of components throughout the facility and engines/compressors (e.g., valves, shutdown devices, rod/bearing clearances, packing, piston clearances, lube oil samples, web deflections, cooling fans, emergency shutdown systems, fire/gas detection).
• Monitoring flows and operating conditions for assigned area.
