About The Position

Lenze Americas is growing its service business with local repair operations and is hiring a Mechanical Repair Technician to support this new and exciting initiative. The Mechanical Repair Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Lenze gears and motors. This role involves disassembling gear units, inspecting and replacing seals and bearings, diagnosing mechanical issues, and reassembling components to ensure optimal performance. The technician will work closely with the service team to deliver high-quality repairs that meet Lenze standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical repair or maintenance, preferably with gearboxes and motors.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet the needs/wants of the customer without being prompted.
  • Must be a self-starter and work well with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and ability to handle multiple service needs simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with voltages up to 600vac / 1000 vdc.
  • Highly proficient computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble gearboxes and motors for inspection and repair.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues, including wear, damaged components, and product quality.
  • Replace damaged/faulty components as needed.
  • Reassemble gearbox units and motors to specifications.
  • Perform functional testing to ensure proper operation after repair.
  • Document detailed repair reports and recommend preventive measures.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Collaborate with engineering and service teams for complex troubleshooting.
  • Able to operate manual and hydraulic presses and various electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Familiar and able to use various hand tools such as drills, ratchets, torque wrenches, air tools, and hammers.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, calipers) for accurate component alignment.
