About The Position

As a Mechanical Repair Technician I, you will be responsible for the teardown, inspection, test and rebuild of regulators and aspirators, as well as hydrostatic testing of cylinders and charging reservoir assemblies with proper gasses. This position is considered safety-sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA's regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40. Employment consideration is contingent upon successfully passing a DOT pre-employment drug test. Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline
  • Ability to wear and utilize respiratory protection
  • Basic communication and computer skills
  • Ability to make accurate measurements and remain within tolerances
  • Ability to read and understand manuals, procedures, diagrams and blueprints
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to complete all training to obtain Valve Shop Certifications
  • Strong attention to detail and organized
  • Experience in working with a wide variety of cylinders.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overhaul/repair of regulators used on evacuation slides.
  • Responsible for overhaul/repair of aspirators used on evacuation slides.
  • Responsible for the hydrostatic testing of cylinders (re-qualification).
  • Responsible for the charging of reservoir assemblies.
  • Knowledge of cylinder types and specifications.
  • Completes required fits and clearances and documentation.
