About The Position

This role involves reading blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, including the location, quantities, and sizes of materials required. The pipefitter will lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts of structural metal products. They will also set up face blocks, jigs, and fixtures, and locate and mark centerlines and reference points. Experience with threaded pipe and/or compressed air systems is necessary. The position requires positioning or tightening braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps to secure parts for welding or riveting. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: location, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts of structural metal products.
• Set up face block, jigs, and fixture.
• Locate and mark centerlines and reference points onto floor or face block and transpose them to work piece, using tape, chains, plumb bob, and squares.
• Position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps of bolt parts in positions for welding or riveting.
