Mechanical Quality Inspector – Chemical Sampling & Material Transfer
About The Position
SGS is looking for a Mechanical Quality Inspector – Chemical Sampling & Material Transfer in Pasco, WA for a 6 month contract with a possibility of an extension. The role involves monitoring material transfer operations, witnessing weighing activities, and collecting samples of GFR chemicals in both solid and liquid forms. Due to the nature of the work and associated exposure risks, the use of respiratory PPE (PAPR – Powered Air Purifying Respirator) is mandatory. The individual must be mechanically qualified and adhere to both supplier and project safety requirements to use the necessary PPE.
Requirements
- AWS CWI or API certification
- Five to ten (5 - 10) years industrial sample monitoring experience.
- Industrial experience in Oil & gas / Power & Utility / Construction / Manufacturing, etc..
- Must have access to and be properly equipped with a PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator).
- Must either already be Bechtel pre-qualified or be capable of obtaining BSQE Mechanical Level II Qualification.
Responsibilities
- Monitor material transfer operations.

- Collect samples of GFR chemicals in both solid and liquid forms.
- Adhere to supplier safety program and project safety requirements.
- Use PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator) filtered air personnel protective equipment.
