About The Position

The Quality Material Inspector inspects inbound materials and vendor sub-weldments and processes materials through the company’s material review board (MRB) program. The role works with receiving and quality teams and operates a forklift. Duties may include other tasks assigned by the department manager.

The position is located in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. The posting offers a $1,500 retention bonus and 80 hours of paid time off after the first 90 days of employment.

Requirements

• Forklift experience.
• Experience with basic measuring tools, including tape measures and gauges.
• Ability to read prints.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend and squat frequently, and stand for 8–10 hours daily.

Responsibilities

• Actively observe and promote BWise safety standards.
• Visually inspect incoming materials, including full-length structural steel and tubing, sheet steel, sub-weldments, and trailer components, for correct dimensions, conformance to print, and freedom from rust, gouges, and other defects.
• Process material through the company’s MRB processes.
• Retrieve material from each department’s designated MRB area and take it to MRB.
• Separate and tag scrap and record scrap and material returned to the vendor.
• Work with receiving and quality teams.
• Operate a forklift.
• Perform other duties assigned by the department manager.
