About The Position

Candidate will perform in-process, receiving, and final inspection of aerospace hardware utilizing basic inspection equipment and customer provided drawings and/or specifications. The candidate will have good dexterity and possess the ability to inspect complex mechanical assemblies. They will read blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions to determine proper assembly sequences and has the ability to identify and suggest process improvements. This role requires a self-starter with little or no immediate supervision required. The individual will regularly make suggestions that improve production velocity and quality and has the ability to select the right tool for the job. The company maintains a drug-free workplace and performs post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 4 to 7 years mechanical inspection, mechanical assembly, and/or metal machining experience required.
  • Good dexterity and possess the ability to inspect complex mechanical assemblies.
  • Read blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions to determine proper assembly sequences.
  • Ability to identify and suggest process improvements.
  • Self-starter, little or no immediate supervision required.
  • Regularly makes suggestions that improve production velocity and quality.
  • Has the ability to select the right tool for the job.
  • Must be able to read complex drawings and interpret per ANSI/ASME Y 14.5
  • Possess basic computer skills using Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school is desirable.
  • Good working knowledge of Zeiss Calypso or Polyworks software a plus.
  • Weld inspection background is a plus.
  • Costpoint experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process, receiving, and final inspection of aerospace hardware.
  • Utilize basic inspection equipment and customer provided drawings and/or specifications.
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and standards to determine product status.
  • Use standard measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
  • Operate a coordinate measuring machining (CMM).
  • Select the correct tool needed to do the job, regularly make decisions on tooling requirement for specific tasks.
  • Assist and train Mechanical Inspector I.
  • Complete non-conformance reports as required.
  • Complete AS9102 FAI reports.
  • Has good communication skills and communicates effectively with coworkers.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
