About The Position

Freeman Enclosure Systems is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mechanical Quality Control Inspector to join our manufacturing team in Batavia, Ohio. The Mechanical Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for inspecting fabricated and assembled products to ensure they meet established quality standards, engineering specifications, customer requirements, and production expectations. The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment and is comfortable reading blueprints and mechanical drawings, taking accurate measurements, identifying defects, and working closely with production teams to resolve quality issues. This position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to maintain accurate inspection records in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections of fabricated and assembled enclosure components and products.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, fit, alignment, workmanship, and overall product quality.
  • Use precision measuring equipment such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, gauges, squares, and other inspection tools.
  • Inspect sheet metal, welded components, mechanical assemblies, hardware, and finished products for conformity to specifications.
  • Identify defects, non-conforming materials, dimensional issues, workmanship concerns, and assembly errors.
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
  • Communicate quality issues and concerns to supervisors, production personnel, and other appropriate departments.
  • Work with production employees to identify the root cause of quality issues and assist with corrective actions.
  • Verify that reworked or corrected products meet applicable specifications before release.
  • Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections as required.
  • Assist with maintaining quality standards and inspection procedures throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Ensure products are completed according to customer specifications and internal quality requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection/work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies, quality procedures, and production requirements.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
