About The Position

RQ Construction is a nationwide Design-Build contractor specializing in complex commercial and Department of Defense projects. As we continue to expand, we're looking for experienced professionals who value teamwork, quality, and successful project delivery. We are seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to lead and coordinate the mechanical scope of projects in and around Jacksonville, Florida. Qualified candidates located outside the area may be eligible for relocation assistance. The Mechanical Project Manager is responsible for managing the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical work on assigned projects. You'll work closely with mechanical superintendents, subcontractors, and project teams to keep work safe, on schedule, within budget, and compliant with contract and government requirements.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED required
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing mechanical work on commercial or government construction projects valued at $5 million or more
Ability to travel to project sites as needed
All candidates considered for hire must provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
Additionally, all candidates must successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for).

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management preferred
Additional education or training in construction management, project management, mechanical trades, BIM, CADD, or related areas is a plus
Mechanical field or trade experience strongly preferred
Experience with military, government, large-scale commercial, or Design-Build projects preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Primavera P6 preferred; training available
Experience with BIM software preferred; training available
