About The Position

The Mechanical Project Lead is responsible for the oversight of construction operations in the Eagle Ford. This role manages the tactical execution of individual projects while assisting the Construction Supervisor in management of the strategic direction of the Eagle Ford Facilities organization. The overall goal is to ensure that jobsite operations comply with design specifications, are completed on schedule, within budget, and adhere to quality standards while ensuring the protection of the crafts on site. This is a Safety Sensitive position.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • 12 or more years of major oil and gas industry project experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Advanced level of knowledge in the construction of industrial facilities, well facilities and pipelines and possess the necessary skills to evaluate, plan, monitor and manage the execution of the project activities.
  • Advanced level of knowledge of all phases of construction operations relating to field activities, engineering disciplines, construction technologies and jobsite management, including: Knowledge of the HSE Management System, contract management, construction management and industry standards.
  • Currently reside or willing to relocate within a 40-mile driving radius of Kenedy, TX
  • Willing and able to perform (with or without reasonable accommodation) the following: Climb various ladders and stairs up to 50 feet in height to perform maintenance on equipment; Raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds; Walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even and uneven terrain; Work outside in harsh weather conditions; Work alone a high percentage of the time; Wear personal protective equipment (PPE); Be on call; Work unscheduled overtime; Work night shifts.

Nice To Haves

  • 10 or more years of experience with demonstrated success in leadership role of brownfield capital projects.
  • 5 or more years of previous experience with L48 projects in Eagle Ford, or Permian business unit.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated technical competence--understanding of design and installation of new and brownfield facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for effective personnel utilization and staffing of the field workforce organization to ensure each jobsite is staffed with qualified personnel.
  • Be an active member of the GCR Facilities organization and act as a primary contact for interface issues that arise within the group that affect construction.
  • Promoting Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) objectives to the site teams, including the construction contractors employed in the area through active participation in LSRV and audit observations.
  • Provide input into the craft recognition program.
  • Execute the following construction processes for Eagle Ford Facilities construction team: a. construction planning and constructability b. Construction execution c. Construction completion and handover d. Site Management e. Construction Readiness f. Construction Turnover to Operations.
  • Manage jobsite expenditures for contracts, equipment, material, and services to ensure construction operations are within budget.
  • Manage site productivity and spend trajectory in accordance with the control estimate and control schedule.
  • Actively participate in constructability reviews, record best practices, and encourage innovation opportunities.
  • Ensure Installation Work Packages (IWPs) are completed prior to the start of work.
  • Monitor fabrication activities to ensure appropriate actions are taken to mitigate impact to construction activities.
  • Ensure that construction is in accordance with drawings, specifications and codes.
  • Hold construction contractors to the terms and conditions of the contract.
  • Participate in monthly reviews of HS&E events.
  • Maintain effective communication and relations with contractor management teams.
  • Manage the interface between Construction and Operations in the coordination and transfer of completed work.
