About The Position
TETER is seeking a passionate Mechanical Project Engineer to join their growing Mechanical Engineering Team. This role involves leading the design and delivery of HVAC and plumbing systems for a wide range of building types. The engineer will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and clients to develop practical, efficient, and code-compliant solutions, while also mentoring junior staff and ensuring projects stay on track. The specific Project Engineer level (I or II) will be determined by experience, capabilities, and project complexity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California, or ability to obtain within 6 months via reciprocity
- Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for buildings
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Nice To Haves
- Revit experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Design and lead HVAC and plumbing systems from early design through construction
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, and consultants
- Guide production of construction documents and support QA/QC efforts
- Support construction with RFIs, submittals, and site visits
- Mentor junior engineers and drafters and support team development
