About The Position

McLaurin is hiring a Mechanical Project Engineer for its JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. The engineer will work with a team to analyze customer requirements and develop design solutions, and will design, develop, test, implement, and analyze technical products and systems. The role supports thermal vacuum space simulation testing and facility-related projects, including producing engineering drawings to applicable standards and troubleshooting facility systems and components. The position involves preparing designs for engineering reviews, work-authorizing documents for hardware installation into human-in-the-loop vacuum and thermal-vacuum chambers, engineering specifications, statements of work, estimates, and procurement and installation documentation. The engineer coordinates designers, stress engineers, drawing checkers, NASA Pressure Systems, and technicians; may lead installation or fabrication work; and maintains configuration control throughout project phases. Shift work may be required to support test operations.
