Inside the Role In this position as a Mechanical Validation & Simulation Engineer within the Research & Development Axle Engineering Team at Daimler Truck North America (DTNA), you will lead validation, advanced analysis and testing responsibilities to ensure the structural durability and reliability of Class 8 Heavy-Duty Truck components, focusing on non-driven front, conventional, and electric driven rear axles. In this role will involve conducting physical and virtual durability testing for Class 8 Heavy-Duty Truck axles, including non-driven front axles, conventional rear axles, and electric-driven rear axles. This will be a collaborative effort, requiring you to work closely with cross-functional and global teams, leading the design and commissioning of fatigue test rigs according to Daimler standards, utilizing advanced signal processing techniques for accurate strain measurements and fatigue damage predictions. Applying industry-standard fatigue methodologies using Simcenter 3D, nCode, and Reliasoft Weibull++ for durability and reliability calculations. Additionally, responsibilities will include leading and mentoring engineers in simulation processes and CAD assembly methods driving innovative design solutions to enhance axle reliability and ensure the timely and high-quality execution of projects.
