Mechanical Product Engineer

EverpureSanta Clara, CA
$186,000 - $279,000Onsite

About The Position

Drive the future of data storage hardware by bridging the gap between advanced design and global production. Working within our Global Supply Chain Operations Engineering team, you will partner early with Hardware Engineering to transform next-generation architectures into scalable physical realities. Your mission is to ensure flawless manufacturability and quality from prototype to production ramp, directly impacting how the Everpure Platform scales globally.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience in mechanical product engineering, manufacturing engineering, NPI, or a related hardware development engineering role
  • Core Mechanical Expertise: Advanced skills in dimensional stack-up analysis, tolerance analysis, and GD&T, with a proven ability to evaluate electromechanical designs for assembly robustness and manufacturing risk.
  • Manufacturing & Tooling Knowledge: Hands-on understanding of diverse fabrication processes—including sheet metal stamping, CNC machining, die casting, and plastic injection molding—alongside proficiency in CAD tools and PLM documentation.
  • System Integration Capabilities: Deep technical familiarity with server or storage system integration challenges, including airflow constraints, thermal/mechanical interactions, structural stiffness, and high-density hardware packaging.
  • Cross-Functional Execution: Exceptional communication and technical program coordination skills, with a track record of successfully aligning with ODMs, contract manufacturers, and internal quality or sourcing teams to resolve technical excursions.
  • Bill of Materials (BOM): Understanding of structuring and managing Bills of Materials (BOM) to guarantee cross-lifecycle data accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct, hands-on exposure to managing or working within a mechanical supplier environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Influence Product Architecture: Partner early with Hardware Engineering and Sourcing to drive design-for-manufacturability (DFM/DFA) and supply chain readiness, optimizing production costs and de-risking global execution.
  • Own NPI & Industrialization: Lead the mechanical product lifecycle from prototype builds through New Product Introduction (NPI), establishing robust process controls, validation plans, and production readiness criteria for seamless product launches.
  • Drive Technical Issue Resolution: Act as the technical anchor for global manufacturing partners, leading cross-functional triage and root-cause analysis for complex mechanical, assembly, tolerance, and reliability issues to continuously maximize factory yield and field quality.
  • Manage Lifecycle Configuration: Own engineering change implementation via Agile PLM and direct fixture readiness, process optimizations, and technical documentation to ensure smooth design transitions into factory environments.

Benefits

  • flexible time off
  • wellness resources
  • company-sponsored team events
