About The Position

The APTIV Connection Systems team has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Product Engineer developing the High Voltage connections and Fast/Charging Inlet systems. The successful candidate will provide innovative solutions and work with cross-functional teams to meet customer-driven, automotive industry specifications. This position is located in Warren, OH at our Champion Technical Center and will report to a Product Engineering Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 6+ months of experience/working knowledge of basic component design.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, Skype, Teams, etc.).
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization.
  • Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a team.
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently.
  • Resourcefully innovative and adapt in a rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop cutting edge connection system technology for automotive applications.
  • Expand Inlet portfolio to meet technical specifications per OEM and Tier customers.
  • Ensure HV connection system developments meet internal targets for manufacturability, cost and material usage.
  • Responsible for product design and management from concept to approved production design including: Prototype and Proof of Concept, Validation, Production Implementation.
  • Interact with internal and external customers, suppliers, and management to ensure seamless product launches and proper communication channels.
  • Collaborate with team members on: Project Execution, Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving, Design of Experiments.
  • Participate and/or lead internal and external design reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements.
