About The Position

MGC Contractors, Inc., a 100% employee-owned corporation specializing in water and wastewater general contracting, is seeking a Mechanical/Process Equipment Installer for its Texas Division in the El Paso area. The role involves installing process equipment and related piping at construction sites, including pumps, blowers, clarifiers, water filtration systems, flanged above-ground piping, influent fine screens, and aeration basin systems.

This is a full-time position. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. The work takes place at professional construction sites, often outdoors and for extended periods in all weather, including extreme heat and cold. Employees may encounter chemicals, vapors, pollutants, pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machinery, and dust or debris. A pre-employment drug screen is required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Ability to communicate verbally in person and by telephone.
• Ability to read printed materials, signs, and directions.
• Ability to maintain attention despite interruptions.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle, or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery, or controls weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms; climb stairs or ladders; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, and move around construction sites safely.

Nice To Haves

• Three to five years of related water/wastewater industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Install process equipment, including pumps, blowers, clarifiers, water filtration systems, influent fine screens, and aeration basin systems.
• Install flanged above-ground piping.
• Understand and perform equipment installation, alignment, and anchoring.
• Perform crane rigging and signaling.
• Work with process piping materials and connections, including PVC, steel, stainless steel (SST), and ductile iron pipe (DIP).
• Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
