About The Position

Comprehensive Energy Services, Inc. is hiring a commercial construction Mechanical/Plumbing Superintendent. This role operates in a collaborative capacity with Foremen, Project Managers, BIM, and other construction operations team members. The Superintendent is responsible for monitoring, tracking, and managing the field team to ensure projects start and finish strongly and in compliance with company processes. The role also involves providing oversight on challenging projects as assigned by the Operations Manager. Strong mechanical and plumbing trade knowledge and a good understanding of company processes are essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of mechanical and plumbing supervision level experience.
  • OSHA 30 hour class, First Aid and CPR current certifications.
  • Strong familiarity with plumbing and mechanical codes.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and graduate of a post-secondary program of instruction of two or more years in duration or completion of apprenticeship program or similar training program required.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Must be insurable at all times by CES insurance carrier.
  • Must be able to pass regular drug testing.
  • Must be open to background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise all CES trade activities, including determining construction methods, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, and work schedules.
  • Document actual daily activities and job progress.
  • Coordinate assigned work with the work of CES trades, company departments, or other subcontractors for assigned projects.
  • Monitor and track construction project(s) to ensure "Project Start" and "Project Finish" plans are in place.
  • Assist Operations team members with action steps required to successfully complete "Project Start" and "Project Finish" plans.
  • Provide oversight and leadership to solve specific project challenges as assigned by the Operations Manager or Vice President of Construction.
  • Provide input on means, methods, and best practices in construction field operations.
  • Attend and participate in Kick-Off Meetings, Labor Forecasting Meetings, and other required meetings.
  • Evaluate and document the work performance of assigned personnel.
  • Forecast short and long-term manpower requirements on assigned projects.
  • Accurately document changes in work scope.
  • Prepare time and material estimates for directed contract changes.
