The DCN Mechanical / Piping Engineer will be responsible for supporting management goals and programs, checking and approving drawings, and reviewing engineering work to ensure accuracy and conformance with specifications, codes, and best practices. This role involves attending design and development sessions, preparing technical requisitions, and reviewing vendor quotations. The engineer will also prepare various mechanical engineering deliverables, including drawings, documents, and calculations, and perform bulk Material Take Offs and detailed Bills of Materials. A key aspect of the role is to find innovative solutions to reduce costs while managing impacts on quality, cost, or schedule, and staying informed about new developments in the field. The position requires interpreting and executing assignments independently, making decisions on technical problems, and applying advanced knowledge to resolve complex issues. The engineer will stay updated on advancements in electrical engineering and data center technologies to improve reliability and efficiency, and will specify painting, coating, and insulation systems. They will also determine mounting for components and equipment, advise on industry codes and client specifications, and supervise outsourcing of piping engineering work if necessary. The role includes creating or checking 'Design Basis' documents, performing pipe stress analysis, and providing piping load information to structural engineers. Reviewing 'as-built' drawings and ensuring conformity through calculations is also required. The engineer will represent the company with customers, provide technical support during construction, respond to RFIs, and attend job site visits, meetings, and commissioning activities.
