About The Position

We are seeking a mid-level piping detailer with experience supporting large commercial and industrial construction projects. This role will focus on producing detailed piping drawings and models used for fabrication and installation, working closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams. The ideal candidate has experience working with or supporting a mechanical contractor and understands the coordination required between design, fabrication, and construction.

Requirements

3–6+ years of piping detailing experience in commercial or industrial construction
Experience detailing piping systems for fabrication and installation
Experience working with or supporting a mechanical contractor preferred
Proficiency with 3D modeling and detailing software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D, or similar
Strong understanding of piping systems, fabrication processes, and construction coordination
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and mechanical specifications
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with project teams

Nice To Haves

Experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial construction projects
Familiarity with BIM coordination workflows
Experience coordinating with fabrication shops and field installation teams
Experience using Navisworks or other BIM coordination tools

Responsibilities

Create detailed piping drawings and fabrication models for commercial and industrial mechanical systems
Coordinate piping layouts with structural, architectural, and other MEP trades to avoid conflicts
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation
Work closely with fabrication shops and field teams to ensure constructability and accuracy
Revise drawings based on RFIs, field conditions, and coordination feedback
Support project teams during the coordination and detailing phases of large-scale projects
