About The Position

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician performs assigned maintenance duties, including maintaining forklifts through light mechanical work and battery care; repairing, replacing, and constructing pallet racks; maintaining pallets; and completing general building maintenance. The role also provides support to production and warehouse departments and completes additional day-to-day tasks as directed. The technician performs qualified mechanical work on warehouse equipment, machinery, conveyors, racks, and forklifts; drives industrial lift equipment as needed; supplies main offices with paper; and handles general building maintenance such as drywall, painting, and minor plumbing. The position requires maintaining a safe and clean work environment, following company rules, supporting ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 responsibilities, reporting potential problems promptly, and participating in physical inventories as needed. This position is based in Plainfield, Indiana, and is scheduled for second shift, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime is required.

Requirements

Must be certified on industrial lift equipment.
Ability to work in a warehouse environment requiring continuous walking and standing.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work at heights of over 25 feet.
Good written and oral communication skills; must be able to read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

Provide assistance to production and warehouse departments as needed.
Drive industrial lift equipment as needed.
Perform mechanical duties, as qualified and assigned, on warehouse equipment, machinery, conveyors, racks, and forklifts.
Maintain forklifts, including light mechanical duties and battery care.
Maintain pallet racks, including repairs, replacing damaged racks, and constructing new racks.
Maintain pallets as needed.
Supply main offices with paper and perform assigned light mechanical duties.
Perform general building maintenance, including drywall, painting, and minor plumbing.
Report potential problems to the Facilities Manager promptly.
Participate in physical inventories as needed.
Fulfill responsibilities under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and support the ISO system.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Understand and follow company rules and regulations.
Perform all other duties as assigned or required.
