About The Position

ConocoPhillips Alaska is seeking to hire Mechanical Maintenance Technicians throughout 2026 due to normal attrition. This role offers the opportunity to work in the Alpine, Kuparuk, or Willow fields. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of innovation, teamwork, and technical growth, with strong communication skills and proficiency in computer-based maintenance management systems. This position allows for work as a journeyman electrician while developing advanced skills for career progression.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Current/valid driver’s license
  • 5 or more years of experience as a millwright or process facility mechanic
  • 1 or more years of experience with precision measurement using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
  • Advanced proficiency in rigging and lifting
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to work a 14 days on/14 days off rotational schedule in a remote arctic environment, both indoors and outdoors in harsh weather
  • Willing and able to meet the physical demands and work environment requirements outlined in this job description, with or without reasonable accommodation

Nice To Haves

  • Millwright certification
  • 5 or more years of oil and gas industry experience, preferably with Arctic exposure
  • 1 or more years of experience working with GE frame turbine packages, Solar turbine packages, Siemens/Ruston turbine packages, or comparable equipment
  • Commissioning and/or new equipment startup experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of maintenance management systems (SAP preferred)
  • Equipment Precision alignment skills utilizing indicators or Rotalign technology
  • Proven commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards, demonstrated through a strong safety record

Responsibilities

  • Performing mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and both preventive and corrective tasks to uphold equipment reliability and operational safety.
  • Supporting scheduled and major overhauls for turbines, compressors, pumps, seals, air compressors, and other process equipment.
  • Executing basic machining work, balancing equipment, and conducting vibration analysis.
  • Completing facility maintenance as outlined in preventive maintenance orders.
  • Working independently and leading teams during day-to-day activities.
  • Preparing thorough written documentation of maintenance activities and major projects, and communicating effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Inspecting components with precision measuring tools, qualifying parts, preparing detailed reports, and coordinating with vendors.
  • Adhering to engineered guidelines and Management of Change processes, ensuring all tasks are performed safely.
  • Proactively planning and prioritizing work assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Documenting inspection and maintenance results, including as-found/as-left conditions and details of major overhauls.
