About The Position

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe and reliable execution of mechanical maintenance activities in an industrial manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, the Technician diagnoses, troubleshoots, repairs, installs, and maintains mechanical equipment and process machinery. Candidates will be considered for Mechanical Maintenance Technician I, II, or III based on their skills, demonstrated competencies, education, certifications, and relevant experience.

Requirements

  • Relevant maintenance certificate or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of rotating and fixed mechanical systems, maintenance methods, technical drawings, and applicable OSHA requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with a maintenance CMMS; SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • PSM chemical facility and ISO 9001 experience preferred.
  • At least 3 technical competencies and 3–4 years of relevant experience (for Technician I).
  • At least 7 technical competencies and 5–6 years of relevant experience (for Technician II).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all 11 technical competencies and 7+ years of relevant experience (for Technician III).

Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned mechanical maintenance work, including pipefitting, equipment installation/removal, pump packing and seal replacement, equipment rebuilds, and preventative/predictive maintenance.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain rotating and fixed mechanical equipment and process machinery.
  • Complete required SAP/CMMS transactions, including work order confirmations, maintenance notifications, and equipment records.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, equipment drawings, and safety procedures while completing work safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Perform required safety assessments and life-critical work, including line/equipment opening, confined space entry, and work at heights.
