About The Position

Responsible for the Mechanical Maintenance operations on an assigned shift to ensure that all equipment is operating effectively. This role involves maintaining electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems, as well as the physical building structure and cosmetics. The position also includes responsibility for all equipment, including general maintenance, ordering parts, and requesting repair services. The Mechanical Maintenance Class 1 assists supervisors in various trades such as carpentry, plumbing, welding, masonry, boiler, HVAC, and electrical systems, and supports all personnel with their job duties. The role requires keeping supervisors informed, making recommendations for areas needing attention, and providing proper safety and security for company assets and personnel. Understanding and enforcing all applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the department, maintaining daily logs, maintenance forms, and requested reports are key responsibilities. The position also requires staying knowledgeable of all property events, attending mandatory meetings and training, and maintaining confidentiality. Sensitivity to Native American Culture is important, and the role operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual, Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and other applicable regulations, securing the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous mechanical maintenance experience helpful.
  • Knowledgeable in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and LP gas systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot order and install repair parts for all equipment.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, public relations and communication skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts efficiently and professionally.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Prolonged standing and walking is required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • High School Graduate or General Educate Degree (GED).
  • A minimum level of certification in two (2) of the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, HVAC, boiler, wastewater treatment plant, certified pool operator or equivalent years of experience, determined by the interview panel.
  • One or more years related experience.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.
