About The Position

The Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is a multi-faceted agency that serves juveniles of the Commonwealth. Requirements

  • Two years of experience in the maintenance or repair of HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, or electrical systems.
  • Must be 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Performs duties related to the maintenance and operations of equipment in a Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) facility.
  • Installs, repairs and maintains air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, ventilation, electrical systems and other associated equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains electrical, plumbing and sewerage operations.
  • Keeps basic records of work activities and provides technical assistance.
  • Inspects and checks for the working performance of equipment according to specifications.
  • Performs checks and tests on mechanical equipment.
