About The Position
The Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice is a multi-faceted agency that serves juveniles of the Commonwealth. Requirements
- EDUCATION: NONE
- EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of experience in the maintenance or repair of HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, or electrical systems.
- Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
- SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age.
Responsibilities
- Performs duties related to the maintenance and operations of equipment in a Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) facility.
- Installs, repairs and maintains air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, ventilation, electrical systems and other associated equipment.
- Repairs and maintains electrical, plumbing and sewerage operations.
- Keeps basic records of work activities and provides technical assistance.
- Inspects and checks for the working performance of equipment according to specifications.
- Performs checks and tests on mechanical equipment.
