About The Position

As a Mechanical Lead for EEI’s Mission Critical team, you will lead mechanical commissioning execution for data centers and other high-reliability facilities. You will work with project leadership, clients, contractors, vendors, and internal technical teams to help ensure mechanical systems are installed, tested, documented, and operating in alignment with project requirements and client expectations. You will provide discipline-level technical leadership, guide complex field execution, drive issue resolution, and support team development across assigned projects. The role is intended for an experienced mechanical commissioning leader who enjoys leading people and projects, solving complex technical challenges, and building trusted client relationships in mission-critical environments. The position involves a hybrid environment of office and field-based work, with typical travel of up to 75%, depending on project and individual location. Site visits may include mission-critical facilities, data centers, active construction environments, mechanical rooms, uneven ground, varying weather conditions, and field interactions. Site inspections may require walking project sites, climbing ladders, occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, and working in confined spaces when needed. Reasonable accommodation may be provided. The role reports to an Associate, Team Leader, or Project Manager, depending on organizational structure and project assignment. It provides technical leadership, field guidance, coaching, and coordination for Mechanical Support, Mechanical Specialists, Sr. Mechanical Specialists, and other assigned team members; formal supervisory duties may vary. The Mechanical Lead works closely with EEI project teams, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, equipment manufacturers, project stakeholders, engineers, project managers, and senior technical team members across disciplines, and serves as a key representative to EEI clients, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders. EEI is an employee-owned facility and energy consulting company delivering building commissioning, building performance, facility assessments, master planning, energy audits, and technical program management. The company serves clients including Fortune 500 organizations, national healthcare networks, universities, and government agencies. The annual compensation range is $83,000–$118,000, based on the national labor market and subject to change.
